Leadership Council Members

Susan Keough
Susan is a US Army Veteran who served on Active Duty for six years as a Military Police Officer. She received her commission through the ROTC program at Middle Tennessee State University and her Master’s in Human Relations from the University of Oklahoma. Upon transitioning to the civilian sector, Susan worked for AT&T in the Emerging Technology industry for almost ten years before moving into secondary and higher education roles.
Susan is a full-time staff member at Texas A&M University. In her role as the Director of Employment Services, Susan provides leadership and guidance to employers as they establish recruiting strategies, engage students in campus activities, market employment opportunities, and brand companies on campus. Susan works in partnership with the leadership of the Veterans Resource & Support Center (VRSC) to provide Career Readiness services and expand employer engagement opportunities for student veterans. As an Adjunct Instructor, Susan also teaches courses under the School of Military Science (SOMS) for the Corps of Cadets.

Kurt Felpel ’92
Worked at Texas A&M since 2015 and is currently the Assistant Department Head in the Department of Economics. Kurt received his B.A in History from the Texas A&M University in 1992 and after graduation served in the United States Army from 1992 until 2015. During his time in the military, he was stationed in Texas, Georgia, South Korea, California, Belgium, and Kansas – as well as two tours in Iraq. Later in his career, he served as a Professor and Department Head of Army ROTC at the University of Georgia where he retired in 2015 with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Kurt has also earned a Master of Public Administration degree from Central Michigan University.
After retiring from the military, Kurt and his family moved back to Texas. He accepted the position of Program Manager in Economics July of 2015, and was promoted to Assistant Department Head in 2018.

Jeff Wilson ’84
Member of the Corps of Cadets and retired as USAF Lt Col spending with over 22 years in space and missile operations. Commanded at the crew, flight, section, squadron, and installation levels. Prior to retirement, was the Chief of Non-Rated Operations Assignments at the Air Force Personnel Center. Returned to Texas A&M in 2008 and currently in charge of on-campus housing assignments and billing at “the largest” university in the country (and the 7th largest on-campus housing operations in the country).
